The Clay Area Preschool spent their final day of classes immersed in a visit to a one-room schoolhouse. The schoolhouse, located on CR 700 S, Claypool, was restored by its owners, Dan and Eileen Ransbottom. The children entered by the ring of a school bell, and sat in antique desks while listening to stories from the 1905 McDuffy Reader, as read by Mrs. Ransbottom, who was attired in the dress of that time. After an old-fashioned handwashing in a bucket of soap, the children sat down to a sack lunch and then played 'Red Rover.' Pictured (L to R, front row) are Electra Herring, Riley Bultemier, Brittany Duncan, Faith Napier, Morgan Miller, Isabella Hamill, Payge Kreis, Kendra Kline, Madison Stein; second row: Ean Goble, Matthew Fox, Matt Manns, Gage Risner, Zachary Hurd, Noah Wildman, teacher Dianna Martz and Assistant Eileen Ransbottom.
