Preparations Continuing For Airport’s Power Line Lowering ProjectPreparations are continuing for the Warsaw Municipal Airport's power line project.
The Warsaw Board of Aviation Commissioners heard an update on the project at its meeting Tuesday.
CHA Consulting Inc. Deputy Project Manager Robert LaFayette talked about the project as part of his report provided electronically. CHA Consulting handles engineering for the airport.
The project involves altering power lines east of the airport's east-west runway, Warsaw Airport Manager Nick King said after the meeting.
"We're just lowering them from 150 feet to approximately 50-60 feet," he said.
During his report, LaFayette said that entities involved wanted to get a signed agreement for the project completed "as soon as possible."
The board also heard from King during his report to the board that plans are also progressing for putting a sewer lift station on an unused portion of the airport's land.
The board agreed to begin the process for the station at its February meeting. The lift station will service the proposed Greenbriar housing development near the airport.
King said plans are for the station to be at the corner of Airport Road and CR 350N and take up about 100 by 100 feet. The sewer line is to run along CR 350N and connect to the city's system at Ind. 15.
King told Board President Jay Rigdon that those involved were also working on creating covenants whereby those living in the new housing development can't file nuisance claims against the airport.
Rigdon had made that suggestion at February's meeting.
In other business, the board:
• Approved several measures authorizing the sale of Silveus Aviation LLC's hangar at the airport to Keller Real Estate Holdings LLC and Kenneth Keller.
• Agreed to move its May meeting from the original meeting date of May 10 to May 24. That's to accommodate the schedules of several people involved with the board.
The board's next meeting is 5:15 p.m. April 12 at City Hall.
