Our men and women in uniform walk the god-forsaken sands of Afghanistan to keep our country safe. They risk their lives and are fully committed to duty, honor and country. They leave their worried families behind and put their lives on hold for all of us. What a shame that those leading our country can't take a page from our soldiers' playbook; a page written in courage, honesty, principles, and heroism.
Only a scant handful leading this country have any interest in making an honest, unselfish difference. But they are all interested in instant self gratification, glory and the feeling of unbridled power. Few would sacrifice themselves for a buddy, but all of them understand sacrificing others and their country for their ideology.Our soldiers stand tall and take pride in their service to their country. Our government leaders stand tall and take pride in trampling the United States' Constitution and in stripping its citizens of their freedoms. Our military leads with discipline, uniformity, rules, and by example. Our government leads from power, greed, chaos and corruption.
To our honorable soldiers: Thank you for your service and your sacrifices. To our government leaders: You, having manipulated and abused the powers bestowed upon you, and your reckless behavior are a disgrace to this country and its citizens. To all of you who are slithering through the halls of Congress and the White House thinking of yourselves as heroes while gutting this country of its greatness: You will never stand tall enough to ever understand duty, honor and country.
