'Pot' Seized; 2 Arrested

PIERCETON - Two men were jailed Wednesday and about 39 pounds of marijuana seized during execution of a search warrant at a Pierceton residence.

Robert L. Castillo, 20, of 3293 Ind. 13N, Pierceton, and Jeremy Flores, 20, of 202 S. Rowland Ave., Leesburg, reportedly fled from police, but the two were later apprehended and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail.

Castillo was preliminarily charged with possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance, both Class D felonies, and resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor. He also was served with a warrant for failure to appear on a cocaine possession charge. His bond on the first three charges was set at $2,000. He is being held without bond on the fourth charge.

Flores was preliminarily charged with possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana, a Class D felony, and resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor.

Wednesday's investigation was organized by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department and North Webster Police Department.

In addition to the marijuana seized Wednesday, the KCDTF confiscated about 35 pounds of marijuana from other incidents during the past week. The street value of the contraband is estimated at $75,000.

The drug task force is working with drug interdiction units from throughout the country to eradicate marijuana.
