What separates Positive Fitness from other gyms is “results,” according to owner Lou Siri.
“I’ve had lots and lots lose that 100-pound mark,” Siri said after showing a picture of a recent client who lost 120 pounds.
Positive Fitness was incorporated in 1995. It’s now in its third location at 211 N. Indiana St., Warsaw.
“I do one-on-one training and small group training. It’s a private facility,” he said.
He received his degree in exercise science through Ball State University. His specialty is “generally fitness and weight loss,” he indicated.
“I’ve developed my own program. It’s metabolic cross conditioning. It’s taking in cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and combining those in one for the purpose of speeding up metabolism. It speeds up the healing process for weight loss,” he said.
His clients are monthly members of the gym, which is open based on one-on-one and group training schedules.
Siri said he currently has 80 clients, with a majority of those middle-aged women, but Positive Fitness is co-ed. He does train a variety of ages from high school students to a woman who is almost 73 years old.
“She’s been with me almost 20 years,” he said.
Cost depends on if a person wants one-on-one or group training. One-on-one is roughly $25 a session. Group is $89 per month for up to five training sessions a week.
