Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports aims to improve Tippecanoe Valley High School’s climate and improve student behavior.
While at school, students are expected to behave in a responsible, respectful and safe manner. PBIS encourages students to have good character, go above and beyond expectations and serve others.
Each week five students are rewarded for their behavior with a certificate, candy and a call home to the parent to let them know that their child was caught "being good." Out of those, a weekly winner is drawn and receives a "PBIS Winner" t-shirt, donated by the Army National Guard, and is taken out to have lunch with Principal Kirk Doehrmann (R).
Surrounding area establishments donate the lunches for the students.
October’s weekly winners were Jonathan Capps (L), Angelica Heeter, Rick Emmons and Shelby Carr (C). This month, Teel’s Restaurant in Mentone provided lunch for the students.
