SYRACUSE – Poly-Wood Inc. has completed its 42,260-square-foot expansion, contractor DJ Construction said Wednesday. Space was added to the manufacturing area, giving Poly-Wood needed room for increased production, according to Doug Rassi, president of the recycled plastic outdoor furnishings company. The expansion also includes a new showroom for Poly-Wood to display its 26 styles of outdoor furniture. The design incorporates a glass curtain wall with a telescoping door that opens up the showroom to the exterior. “The new showroom allows us to better showcase our products and design capabilities to retail customers,” Rassi said. “This added element is something we’ve needed for some time. Now customers can see our products in a true-to-life setting.” According to Pete Garber, DJ construction client representative and project manager, the new area falls between and behind two pre-existing buildings, requiring special attention for DJ to create one gabled roof over two separated gabled roofs. Founded in 1990, Poly-Wood designs and creates outdoor furnishings and plastic lumber from recycled plastic milk jugs.
