NAPPANEE - Polly Berniece Miller, 98, of Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, and formerly of Nappanee, died at 10:04 p.m. Sept. 28, 2008, in Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born April 8, 1910, in Albion, to Levi Edgar and Lavina Ellen Bleile Pippenger. On Jan. 10, 1930, in Albion, she married Orley A. Miller, who died July 28, 1993.
Moving to Nappanee from Albion 67 years ago, she attended Nappanee Church of the Brethren, was a homemaker and formerly worked at Wegmiller's 5 & 10 Store.
Surviving are five daughters: Mildred (and spouse Lester) Bollenbacker, Bremen; Betty (and spouse Robert) Whitmer, Thelma (and spouse Jerry) Neff and Carolyn (and spouse Roy) Weldy, all of Nappanee; and Irene (and spouse Dick) Carrick, Goshen; four sons, David, Larry and Steven Miller, all of Nappanee, and Jerry (and spouse Nancy) Miller, Bremen; 31 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carrie Seiss, Muncie. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a granddaughter, four sisters and three brothers.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nappanee Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Byrl Shaver officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
