First-time voters will be asked to show identification before being allowed to vote.

A spokesman for the Kosciusko County Clerk's office said in training given to poll workers last week, the Clerk's office explained that newly registered voters' names will be flagged with the phrase "first time voter." Poll wokers are instructed to ask for identification.

If no acceptable identification is presented, the voter must vote by provisional ballot.

Provisional ballots are kept sealed and separate. If the voter is able to provide appropriate identification to the Clerk's office by 6 p.m. on Election Day, their vote be counted.

Forms of acceptable identification include a driver's license, state-issued photo identification, utility bill, bank statement or government documentation that shows the voter's name and the address at which the voter is registered.
