The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department is warning residents of a possible scam.
A male subject has been reported in the southwestern part of Kosciusko County trying to sell books by making people believe he represents the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation. One reports says a male subject identified himself as "Brownie" and said he is going around talking to all incoming freshmen.
The male subject is well dressed, in his mid-30s to early 40s, and approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a medium build. He has short brown hair that is longer in the back and has a southern accent. He drives a newer green Buick.
Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation does not have anyone going to homes, selling books or talking to incoming freshmen.
