Warsaw police are seeking more information regarding an attempted robbery that occurred at 11:27 p.m. Thursday at Schoop's Hamburgers, 3501 Lake City Highway.
According to a Warsaw Police Department spokesman, Schoop's manager Mercury Pappas was leaving the business with a money bag when he was approached by two men behind the business. The men, who spoke both Spanish and English, reportedly attempted to get Pappas to give them a ride. Pappas declined.
The two men allegedly grabbed Pappas and tried to take the money bag, but Pappas fought back. He retained the money bag, but the two men reportedly assaulted Pappas and took his money clip and money. They fled on foot in an unknown direction.
According to the WPD spokesman, Pappas called a friend by cellular telephone and the friend called police. Pappas was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital for muliple injuries and released.
Pappas was unable to provide a physical description of his assailants and was unable to determine how much money he lost.
