Police are looking for a suspect who hit a mo-ped and its driver and then fled the scene. At approximately 7:49 p.m. Sunday, the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department responded to a vehicular accident with personal injuries on Fox Farm Road near the intersection of Leigh Drive, Warsaw, according to a press release from the KCSD. Officers arrived and located a mo-ped along with its driver. The driver, identified as Darrell Thompson, 50, Warsaw, stated that he was southbound on Fox Farm Road, when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck. Thompson told deputies that the driver stopped his truck and exited the vehicle to check on him, but returned to his vehicle and fled the scene southbound, then eastbound onto Lake Street. Thompson described the truck as possibly a 1980s-style Chevrolet, with grey over white two-toned coloring. He also stated that the driver appeared to by in his 60s, sandy blond or grey hair, mustache, and was wearing a blue T-shirt, that was visible under a brown Carhart jacket. Thompson had minor injuries and was treated by the arriving Lutheran Kosciusko EMS.
