Police recovered the weapon believed used in Friday night's armed robbery of a Syracuse convenience store.
The silver handgun, as well as two rubber gloves, a pair of black pantyhose and a black shirt, were found north of the Pride C Store on North Turkey Creek Road.
This was the second armed robbery within two days in Kosciusko County. The first took place Thursday night at Katie's Kwikmart in Leesburg. Officials believe the same man is responsible for both robberies.
In both cases, the suspect entered the store near closing time with his face concealed by a black pantyhose mask and made employees lie on the floor. No injuries were reported in either incident.
In Friday's robbery, the lone gunman fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash after allegedly telling the clerk to give him the money out of the cash register drawer only.
A customer who arrived at the store during the robbery told police she saw the man walk away heading either west or north.
A K-9 search of the area led to the evidence that was collected near the crime scene.
Anyone with information on either of these cases is asked to contact the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department at 267-5667 or Crime Stoppers at 800-342-STOP.
