SYRACUSE - Another alleged methamphetamine laboratory was shut down by police this weekend - the second such seizure within a week.

Officers with the Kosciusko County Special Operations Team, along with members of the Kosciusko County/Warsaw Police Department SWAT Team, raided a home at 8469 N. CR 620E, Syracuse, early Saturday morning. Three people were arrested during the investigation.

Jefferey Young, 33, who resides at the raided house, and Luke M. Tuttle, 25, of 1638 N. CR 1150W, Cromwell, were preliminarily charged with dealing in a controlled substance and possession of two or more chemical reagents. Bond was set at $10,000 for each.

Also booked into the Kosciusko County Jail was Christy L. Stover, 26, Middlebury, who is preliminarily charged with visiting a common nuisance. Her bond was set at $250.

According to an undercover officer with SPOT, the Indiana State Police classified this alleged methamphetamine lab as "one of the cleanest and biggest" they ever saw. There also was allegedly a marijuana-growing operation in the home.

Police reportedly seized items used for production of illegal drugs. The ISP Clandestine Lab Team was used for removal of the hazardous chemicals.

A press release indicated that the community played a part in these arrests, which otherwise would not have been possible.

Police also closed down an alleged methamphetamine lab May 6 on Husky Trail in Warsaw. Two men were arrested in connection with that investigation.

Anyone with information regarding illegal drug activity in the community is asked to contact the Kosciusko County Special Operations Team at 372-2494 or the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department at 267-5667.
