Syracuse Eagles Lodge Robbed

SYRACUSE - Syracuse Eagles Lodge 3760 reported a burglary of an estimated $10,000 in cash Monday morning.

Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department responded to a burglary call at 8:45 a.m. Monday.

According to the KCSD police report, a safe inside the building appeared to be opened with a cutting torch.

The business also reported the theft of $1,000 in cigarettes.

The incident remains under investigation with KCSD.

Haworth's SUV Colides With WPD Car

Warsaw Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert E. Haworth, 42, Sunday Lane, Winona Lake, was involved in an accident with a Warsaw Police Department car Monday morning.

The accident occurred at the intersection of North Detroit and East Fort Wayne streets.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department report, Haworth admitted running a light.

Haworth's SUV, registered to Warsaw Community Schools, then collided with WPD officer Chuck Hodges' vehicle.

Neither Haworth or Hodges, 47, Fairlane Drive, Warsaw, were hurt in the accident.

The estimated damage of the accident was between $5,000 and $10,000.

Man Arrested In October Incident

A Warsaw man was arrested Sunday morning for allegedly pointing a gun at an employee of the Barbee Landing last October.

Gregory Douglas Bailey, 27, of 48 EMS 60D, Warsaw, was booked into Kosciusko County Jail at 8:09 a.m. Sunday and held on $15,000 bond for pointing a firearm.

The arrest is a result of an Oct. 28, 2007, incident where Bailey allegedly got into an argument with Phillip F. Fozo Sr., North Barbee Road, Warsaw, at the Barbee Landing.

Bailey allegedly made threats to Fozo and then pointed a gun at Fozo before leaving the restaurant.
