Police Mum About Claypool Shooting

Posted

Police are still looking for a motive and a suspect in a shooting incident early Tuesday morning that injured two people as they slept in their Claypool home.

Gary Conley, 32, of 356 W. CR 900S, remains in critical condition at an area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Patsy Howard, 36, of the same address, was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital for a single gunshot wound to her lower right leg and later released.

Officials with the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department said Conley and Howard were shot about 3 a.m. by an unknown assailant as they slept. Howard fled the home and called for help from a neighboring residence.

Police said the shooter fired several shots from a 9-mm handgun through the closed window into the bedroom, striking the victims.

Police had little to say about the investigation early today, and are still interviewing family, friends and neighbors.

Police said Howard was not able to provide any information after she was released from KCH
