Police are recommending that an 85-year-old man lose his driving privileges after he was involved in three accidents in 11 days.
Marion O. Worley of West CR 200N, Warsaw, was involved in a head-on collision Monday evening while driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Detroit Street.
Worley told police he didn't realize he was going the wrong direction, but noticed that other motorists were flashing headlights at him.
He turned onto Detroit Street from Anchorage Road and drove southbound on the wrong side of the road until the accident occurred south of Poor Drive.
Worley was not wearing a seat belt and complained of chest pain after the accident.
The driver of the other car, Barbara B. Gigous, 53, of North CR 175E, Warsaw, complained of knee pain. Both were treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital and released.
On July 18, Worley was involved in two separate accidents about three hours apart. In one of those accidents, he was driving a garbage truck that apparently got too far off the roadway and rolled over into a ditch. In the other, the garbage truck ended up in a water-filled ditch.
He was cited that day for driving without a commercial driver's license.
On Monday, police cited Worley for driving left of center.
