Police have identified the man killed in a Tuesday morning stabbing at a Warsaw home.

Matthew Alan Lucas, 42, of Warsaw, was pronounced dead at the scene, 2501 Westside Drive, Warsaw, Tuesday around 10 a.m. His preliminary cause of death is multiple stab wounds, according to Kosciusko County Coroner Tony Ciriello.

An autopsy was conducted on Lucas Wednesday at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center.

Two others also were injured in the stabbing. One victim remains hospitalized and is listed in stable condition, according to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. Chris Francis. The other victim was released from the hospital Tuesday evening.

The suspect, Vickie Louise Wooldridge, 44, of 19 M Dee Acres, Nappanee, was taken into custody by police after a two-hour manhunt in the area of Westside Drive. She was found walking along the side of the road southwest of the scene.

Wooldridge was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 12:56 p.m. Tuesday and charged with murder. No bond was set by prosecutors, according to her booking information.

Francis said Wednesday formal charges are pending.

Francis said shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday, a 911 call came in reporting multiple stabbing victims at the home. Initial arriving officers located three victims at the scene and began gathering information on the suspect.

Multiple agencies, including a helicopter from the Indiana State Police, immediately converged on the vicinity and began a search pattern. Police briefly blocked off access to Fox Farm Road as the search got underway.

Responding agencies to the scene include KCSO, Warsaw Police Department, Winona Lake Police Department, Pierceton Police Department, Mentone Police Department, Indiana State Police, Lutheran EMS, Lutheran Air Ambulance, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
