In response to Mr. Kolbe’s letter in the Times-Union June 12:
It sounds like to me that over the years the city police have been poking the county police in the eye. If this is indeed the case, then the ultimate responsibility begins with the mayor (and his predecessors). Only he can begin to change the combative culture.
On the county side: What is the county commissioners’ and the county council role and responsibility in all of this?
The result of not addressing this: A tragic Rovenstine/Heaton debacle where in the end everyone loses.

P.S. Who initially bought the charge of intimidation? Heaton? Why did this city-county conflict ever see the light of day — trial?
