Police Chase Ends With Two Arrests

An early morning pursuit Saturday started in Kosciusko County and ended in Noble County with the arrest of a man and woman.

Indiana State Trooper Jon Price was patrolling along CR 900N near Ind. 13 in Syracuse at about 12:28 a.m. when a Mitsubishi crossed the center line and almost struck the officer’s marked police car.

Price caught up to the Mitsubishi as it entered a driveway in the 7000 block of CR 900N. He turned on his emergency lights but the Mitsubishi drove through the yard to get away.

The driver purportedly threw something out of the driver side window which was later found and determined to be methamphetamine.

The Mitsubishi fled east on CR  900N and along roads around the south side of Lake Wawasee and into Noble County. The pursuit ended near the intersection of Long Lake Road and CR 300N after the Mitsubishi crashed into a wooden fence.

The driver, Timothy Criswell, 36, Wolcottville, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, reckless driving and operating while intoxicated.

Criswell was also arrested on a combined five warrants from LaGrange and Noble counties. He was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail.

A passenger, Brandi Sowers, 20, Elkhart, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Goshen Police Department.  She was taken to Noble County Jail.

ISP was assisted by Syracuse Police, Cromwell Police and Albion Police.
