North Manchester Man Robbed A North Manchester man was allegedly beaten and robbed at Wilby’s Gas and Goodies on Old 30 in Warsaw Saturday morning. Michael Adams, 32, told officers that he suffered two black eyes and was beaten after being picked up by a car outside of Wilby’s convenience store, 1695 W. Lake St., Warsaw. In the police report Adams alleged that he was drinking at the Time Out Inn then went to Wilby’s and attempted to come back to the Time Out Inn, but was not allowed back in because they were closing. At that point Adams went back to Wilby’s and asked for a cab. Adams said he saw a vehicle pull up and he got in assuming it was a cab. Inside the cab allegedly were two males. The car left Wilby’s and Adams was allegedly beaten and everything he had was stolen except his cell phone. He reported that he had $300 dollars in his sock that was stolen. Additionally he told the officer that he normally kept $5 on him but that night he had $300. After being beaten and robbed Adams alleged that the vehicle brought him back to Wilby’s and dropped him off. The video surveillance from Saturday morning shows Adams getting into a vehicle and driving off, but it is unknown what happened after that.
Theft At Business On Friday morning an employee of a local heating and cooling business caught a man trying to steal supplies from a storage unit for scrap metal. Christopher Baldridge, 44, of 207 N. Roosevelt St., Warsaw, was pulled over at Bronson and Main streets, Warsaw after an Elliott’s Heating and Cooling employee wrote down his license plate information and a description of his vehicle after an incident on Armstrong Road that morning. At 8:40 a.m., an employee saw Baldridge putting a compressor into his truck and contacted police. The employee then asked Baldridge what he was doing and Baldridge said he was just taking trash, according to police reports. Baldridge then left and was pulled over later in Warsaw. He told the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputy that he thought he was at Kester’s Electric taking scrap metal. He additionally told the deputy that he knew he did not have permission to do so. KCSD officials are seeking charges against Baldridge.
