Winona Lake Man Drowns
BELIZE CITY, Belize – A Winona Lake man drowned snorkeling in Belize Tuesday.

Roger Burger, 54, Winona Lake, was snorkeling with his family on the Hol Chan Marine Reserve in Belize when authorities believe that Burger and another tourist was swept out to sea from large waves.

Burger and an Italian drowned.

Burger was snorkeling with his wife, Rebecca Burger, and his 17-year-old son, Zack, and four other tourists.

After a distress call was received by the San Pedro Police, authorities arrived to the scene and recovered the bodies. The bodies were taken to Belize City for autopsies.

The San Pedro Police interviewed the captain and the tourists Tuesday.

The investigation is still under way.

Two Busted On Cocaine Charges
On Tuesday evening, Warsaw Police Department officers received information regarding several people involved in the sale and use of cocaine.

Officers engaged in a conversation with two of the subjects identified, who facilitated the sale of cocaine to an undercover officer at an apartment near downtown Warsaw.

As a result of the sale, the two persons were arrested: Daulton DeWayne Klink, 20, of 409 N. Park Ave., Warsaw, and Coty Michael Haynes, 21, of 542 Lincoln Highway, Bourbon.

Both were booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Tuesday on preliminary charges of dealing in cocaine, a Class A felony.

The charges were enhanced because the apartment was within 1,000 feet of Rarick Park. There were no bonds set.

The case will be reviewed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office. Further arrests are likely by WPD.

Klink and Haynes remained in the Kosciusko County Jail as of press time today.
