Pole-Sitter Jarrett Finishes 29th

BROOKLYN, Mich. - After setting a new track record Thursday, 25-year-old ML Motorsports driver Jason Jarrett finished 29th in Saturday's 39-car Flagstar 200 ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Michigan International Speedway.

Running in the top 10 at the time, something broke in the rear end of Jarrett's No. 67 Mary Louise Miller-owned, Toro-sponsored Pontiac. After repairs were made by the Warsaw-based stock car team, the third-generation driver returned to the track and continued to run for points.

Kerry Earnhardt, the eldest son of the late Dale Earnhardt, took the checkered flag, beating fellow North Carolina driver Ed Berrier by nearly six seconds. The win was the second in just eight career ARCA starts for the 31-year-old Earnhardt.

Kentucky driver Stuart Kirby finished third, former NFL coach Jerry Glanville took fourth and Pennsylvania native Andy Belmont rounded out to the top five.

Among other notable drivers, points leader Frank Kimmel, who went to a backup motor, blew a motor and finished 30th.

The next stop on the ARCA schedule is Saturday at Pennsylvania's 2.5-mile Pocono Speedway.
