Pointless

Editor, Times-Union:

First, the government wants to take away my freedom, now Janet Collins has taken my name. Since I am currently nameless, I will refer to who I am writing to as Janet Collins, because I have the decency to allow you to keep your name. I could go through all your letters and point out your admiration of President Obama. I could explain your ability to nitpick words I say to miss my point entirely. I could point out how you make an argument, and then make the exact opposite argument. Or I could point out how you want the world handed to you.

But I have decided to not do that because it is pointless. Not because I will not be able to change your mind, but because you have already lost the argument. Americans have realized that the politicians in Washington are the problem. Americans have realized that they are sovereign over the government, not the other way around. Americans will once again have a sense of freedom and free will over their lives. Americans realized that the Republic that was set up is not the Republic we see now - where partisan interests serve few. The American Dream is something that is earned by hard work, dedication and a desire to succeed. People like Janet Collins, Bennie Hively and Robert Betances will no longer to be able to write in saying how the government needs to give money without work. They should remember that the concept "He who does not work, does not eat." (2 Thessalonians 3:10) allowed the early colonies to survive and begin the foundations for the Republic.

Speaking of Robert Betances - how can Chamberlin's policy of appeasement to Hitler at Munich equate to Obama "appeasing" the Republicans? It looks like you wanted the rest of the country to just lay down and let Obama and the Democrats do whatever they wanted - whether it was popular with the people or not. The deaths of 50 million people in World War II does not compare to the United States government taking control of our lives. If you actually know history, you would know that Hitler anticipated that the British and the French would not want to go into a war with Hitler over territory that a bad treaty took away from Germany. You are also upset about the Republicans being "obstructionists," well then if fundamental transformation is obstructionist, count me in. You may want to re-read history, Robert Betances, and then get back to me.

The calls for freedom are growing in numbers and in volume. The people have realized that the parties have grown beyond the consent of the governed. Americans no longer look at party interest in choosing their representatives. The two political parties have to learn that they answer to the voters in the election booths, or the parties will just another memory in the Constitutional Restoration of the Republic.

One last thing, Janet Collins, since you've taken my name, can I start sending my bills to you for you to pay? Merry Christmas!
