The students in Julie Underhill's third-grade class at Pierceton Elementary School recently completed a unit on poetry. The students spent about a month learning about the craft of poetry and during this time wrote three poems: a snapshot poem, a five-senses poem and a free-verse poem. They then gave a poetry reading for their parents featuring their favorite poem. Pictured (L to R) are the students holding their poems at the poetry reading, row 1: Makayla Berg, Devon Akers, Bailey Wright, Abigail Hartman, Ashlaun Dutton, Andrew Minnick; row 2: Colten King, Luke Chalk, Damian Gibson, Noah Dickerson, Bree Bidle, Addy Shockney, Meagon Christoffel; row 3: Sabastion Slater, Kaden Templeton, Gabe Gaff, Mrs. Underhill, Derek Stouder, Kaylee Allen, Angel Sexton and Emma Goodin.
