Plymouth Track Beats Wawasee, 84-39

Posted
SYRACUSE – Wawasee’s boys track team fell to 0-8 and 0-7 in the Northern Lakes Conference following a 84-39 loss to visiting Plymouth on Senior Day for the Warriors.
Winners for the Warriors were Cole VanLue in the 100, Luke Griner in the 300 hurdles and Sam Griner in the 800.
The wind made the pole vault unsafe, so that event was not contested.
“The boys competed well on Senior Day. The conditions controlled the meet, as it seemed like a blustery late November day rather than May,” said Wawasee head coach Scott Lancaster.
“I have to hand it to the distance runners for each team; they went out there and competed despite the circumstances. It was brutal.
“For us, Luke Griner shined in the intermediate hurdles. Cole VanLue and Same Griner had good performances.”
Wawasee now enters the postseason, beginning with the NLC meet at Warsaw on Tuesday.
