Plumlee Wins Awards

Marshall Plumlee, a rising senior and Wetmore Scholar at Christ School near Asheville, N.C., was recently named to the National Honor Society for his commitment to learning and his force of character.

He has been named to the senior leadership role of Prefect and elected by his peers to chair the Honor Council during his senior year.

In the year-end ceremonies, Plumlee received the Sewanee Award for Excellence in Writing which is presented by the University of the South and Associated Alumni to an outstanding member of the rising senior class who demonstrates high achievement in writing as well as scholarship, leadership, integrity and concern for others.A member of Christ School's 3A state champion basketball team, Plumlee also received the Knighton Sportsmanship Award which is presented to the athlete who represented Christ School with integrity, character and sportsmanship.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Millard P. Plumlee III, Asheville.
