A commemorative plate has been made in honor of Warsaw's celebration as a city for 125 years. Seven of the oldest businesses still in existence donated the funds to purchase 500 plates. Sponsors include: Times-Union (1854), Lake City Bank (1872), DePuy (1895), Little Crow Foods (1903), Dalton Corp. (1910), Myer Levin & Sons (1914) and Zimmer (1927).
The 10-1/4-inch white porcelain plate will have dark blue printing and a gold rim. Sketches of the early establishments of these businesses are depicted around the rim of the plate, with the first mayor at the top and an early sketch of the county courthouse in the center.
The plates are available for $15 each, tax included, with all proceeds going to the Kosciusko County Historical Society. They will be sold at the Jail Museum, Courthouse Coffee/Kaleidoscope and Le Gourmet Chocolate Shoppe during Downtown Days July 21 through 23. Any remaining plates can then be purchased at the Historical Society's gift shop in the Jail Museum.
