Emery F. Rowland, 78, 5943 S. 200 W., Claypool was westbound on CR 700 S., 2.5 miles east of Claypool, Friday morning when the planter he was towing in his 1972 tractor snagged a guide wire on a REMC utility pole. The pole snapped causing a transformer to land on the planter with live wires still attached. Damage to Rowland's tractor was estimated at $1,500. He was not injured.
