Planned Parenthood

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:
It was a difficult night of sleep for me after watching the news about a sting operation on Planned Parenthood.
While the undercover operation took place over a three-hour conversation, I was appalled to hear in the edited version how brazen and unsympathetic abortion doctor Deborah Nucatola was in her comments regarding the harvesting of baby parts during a partial birth abortion. While casually wining and dining she described in detail how she and other abortion doctors are able to harvest baby parts up to 18 to 20 weeks in a woman’s pregnancy. Nucatola discussed the ultrasound and manipulation techniques doctors use to force the baby to turn feet first, thus enabling the doctor to harvest coveted body parts and crush others. She casually mentioned the price tag of $32 to $100 for a baby’s liver and the popularity of harvesting a baby’s lower extremities.
It’s ironic that Nucatola would speak of a baby’s living organs, yet Planed Parenthood refers to the baby as a fetus.
Throughout Nucatola’s conversation there was no mention by her of the care, compassion, and concern for the woman who is going through this most traumatizing procedure. Obviously, for Planned Parenthood it’s not about the mom or her baby. It’s all about the cash. And this has been going on for years!
While thinking about this, a couple thoughts come to my mind. One is a letter to the editor of the Times-Union written prior to the election of President Obama. The individual asked Christians to consider voting for Obama, despite his stance on abortion because he had such a good plan for the United States. As our nation’s leader, Obama has recently called out various organizations on their policies, but has remained silent on Planned Parenthood’s misconduct.
Second, I remember a conversation I had with my father many years ago when the idea of political correctness was starting to be implemented in our country. I remember telling my father this sounded pretty good to me. On the surface he agreed, but he’d been thinking about and had come to the conclusion that this very idea could and probably would be used by the devil to destroy the U.S. I couldn’t see it then, but years later I see it, too. My dad nailed it. We’ve become “politically correct” through pluralism.
After 9/11 a television newscaster asked Ann Graham Lotz, daughter of evangelist Billy Graham, where God was in the midst of this tragedy. Her response was “why would you expect God to help when as a nation we’ve turned our back on Him?” Ann Graham Lotz nailed it too.
As conservative columnist Michelle Malkin wrote last week, “What kind of country do we live in where law-abiding businesses are fined, threatened and demonized for refusing to bake gay wedding cakes, but barbaric baby butchers are hailed by feminists, Hollywood and a president who asked God to "bless" them?”
Wake up and look up, America. There’s only one true hope. His name is Jesus.
