Plan Commission OKs Two Rezonings

Posted
Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission made two favorable recommendations during its monthly meeting Wednesday.

Daniel and Erin McKibbin’s request to rezone land from a residential to an agricultural district was approved.

The property is on the south side of Old 30, 270 feet west of Highland Place in Harrison Township.

The plan commission’s unanimous recommendation will be forwarded to the Kosciusko County Commissioners’ May 22 meeting. The commissioners will hear the matter at 9:15 a.m.

Swiss Perfection also received a unanimous recommendation to rezone ground from and Industrial II district to a commercial district.

The property is on the east side of Huntington Street at the intersection of Baltimore Street in Turkey Creek Township.

That recommendation will be forwarded to the Syracuse Town Council at its May 15 meeting.

A request by Busz Enterprises was tabled Wednesday.

The request was to rezone property from a residential to commercial district on the east side of Oak Street, 100 feet north of Columbia Street in Washington Township.

The plan commission recommended it be continued to next month’s meeting.

It will also be sent to the county’s board of zoning appeals to be heard as an exception rather than a rezoning.

The Pierceton Town Council will also hear the request at its May 14 meeting.

Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission meets the first Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m. in the old courtroom at the Kosciusko County Courthouse.
