Three rezonings and four preliminary plats were approved Wednesday by the Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission.
For rezonings, the plan commission is only a recommending board to the Kosciusko County Commissioners. Rezoning petitions approved included:
Sponseller Brothers' petition to rezone ground from an agricultural district to a residential district. The property is on the south side of Gault Street and west of CR 650W in Harrison Township.
The county commissioners will hear the rezoning April 24 at 10 a.m.
Albert and Sharon Kohler's petition to rezone ground from a commercial district to a residential district. The property is on the west side of Harkless Road and east of Ind. 13 in Turkey Creek Township.
Since the Kohler's property is in Syracuse, the Syracuse Town Council will hear the petition April 17 at 7 p.m.
Kevin Dwyer's petition to rezone ground from an agricultural district to a residential district. The property is on the west side of CR 60W and 200 feet north of CR 1250N in Van Buren Township.
The county commissioners will hear the rezoning April 24 at 10 a.m.
The following preliminary plats were approved:
A petition for preliminary plat approval for a residential subdivision by Jeffery and Pamela Thornburgh and Leo and Carol Jansen. The petition is actually for a replatting as the petitioners want to split the current three lots into two. The property is on the south side of EMS T36 Lane and east of EMS T35 Lane on the north shore of Lake Tippecanoe in Plain Township.
Carey Excavation Inc.'s petition for a residential development on 34.521 acres. The property is on the north side of CR 500N and east of EMS T5 Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
Mark Katzer's petition for preliminary plat approval for a commercial subdivision on 8.524 acres. The property is on the east side of Ind. 15 in Plain Township.
Preliminary plat petition by Ken and Brenda Collins for an industrial II subdivision on 22.04 acres. The property is on the south side of U.S. 30 and 730 feet east of CR 800W in Etna Township.
Members of the plan commission are president Vic Virgil, Richard Kemper, Norm Lovell, Charlie Haffner, Barbara Carwile, Don Ahrms, Hal Strong, Kelly Easterday and Kevin McSherry. They meet at 1 p.m. in the county courthouse, Warsaw, on the first Wednesday of every month.
