NAPPANEE - Pinkney Carlton "Carl" Shaw, 84, of 502 N. Clark St., Nappanee, died after a short illness at 10:50 p.m. Dec. 24, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, where he was a patient since Saturday.
He was born July 15, 1926, in Deland, Fla., to Robert Lee and Irene Beach Shaw. On Oct. 18, 1947, he married Eileen Ingle Hunsberger, who died Sept. 4, 1979.
Moving to Nappanee in 1947, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a retired factory worker.
Surviving are a son, Russ (and spouse Jenny) Shaw, Nappanee; a stepdaughter, Sharon Nunemaker, Nappanee; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers: Bob Shaw, Nappanee; Oscar Shaw, Vernon, Fla.; Lester Shaw, Dallas, Texas; and Edward and Don Shaw, both of Deland; and three sisters: Mildred Peterson, Emporia, Fla.; Katie Jo Kay, Warsaw; and Diane Ness, Poland. He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and three sisters.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Revs. Darrel Flaming and Janet McFall-Brown officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
