Officials with the Warsaw Parks Department closed Pike Lake Beach Tuesday after finding an elevated amount of E. coli bacteria in the water. The parks department tests the water weekly and, while the bacteria level is higher than normal, it was not enough for the health department to mandate the beach being closed. However, the park officials opted to ban swimming to avoid any potential health problems. The beach will remain closed until further notice. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
