The third-grade students of Kathy Garber, Bethany Hall and Valerie Drudge set up a wax museum in Pierceton Elementary School's cafeteria March 31. Early in March, each student chose and read a biography from the school's library. After the book was read, each student wrote a first-person speech as if they were the person from their book. Students dressed in clothes and held one prop that went along with their character. Each student held perfectly still until a museum visitor 'activated' them by pressing on their switch. Once the switch was pressed, the character came to life and shared interesting facts about their character's place in history. Following the presentation, the 'statue' returned to his or her 'wax' state. Many family members, students and guests came to see the wax museum. Pictured is Brandon Hurd as George Washington.
