PIERCETON - Most of the work on the senior citizens center/town utilities building has been completed, according to Bob Murphy of R.P. Murphy and Associates, Larwill.
Murphy presented several invoices to town council members Monday night, detailing exterior and interior items recently completed and furnishings to be ordered.
The majority of the construction is complete, Murphy said. Easterday Construction is contractor for the project.
Several change orders were approved. The project is expected to come in $5,000 less than originally estimated.
Kitchen equipment will be purchased with a donation from the Bibler Trust.
A mid-January opening date is planned for the facility.
Jake Murray, Housing Opportunities of Warsaw housing programs manager, approached the board with two requests for owner-occupied housing rehabilitation loans: one on Church Street and another on Market Street.
Both homes were approved for the state-funded program and will receive extensive renovations, including new furnaces and windows.
Murray has served as coordinator of the program since its inception.
The recent applications, and one submitted but not yet approved, wrap up most of the $200,000 in Indiana Housing Authority Funds made available to Pierceton homeowners. Monies not used are returned to the government.
