Pierceton PD Adds 2 Chaplains To StaffPIERCETON – The Pierceton Police Dept. recently added new staff.
Pastor Glenn Hall and Pastor Eric Trump will volunteer their time as police chaplains for the PPD. Both pastors are longtime residents of Pierceton and well-known men of Christ, according to a news release from Pierceton Marshal Tim Sammons.
The chaplains will work closely with Pierceton officers on an as-needed basis, delivering emergency messages, death notifications and information about crises surrounding traffic accident victims. The chaplains will assist members of the Pierceton community who have been displaced or are dealing with a difficult situation.
The chaplains will assist the police with networking in Kosciusko County with nonprofits who have available resources for a person or family in need.
“I am very blessed to have Pastor Glenn and Pastor Eric on staff. This has been a tough year dealing with death notifications and following up with traffic accident victims in the hospitals, and house fires. It will be helpful to have the police chaplains on staff who are better qualified to help the police deal with people going through horrible times in life,” Sammons said.
Hall is the senior pastor and Trump is the associate pastor for the Harvest Community Church in Pierceton. Both will attend police chaplain training provided by the Indiana State Police’s Police Chaplain Alliance in Indianapolis in the summer.
The chaplains can be reached at 574-594-2232 or by email at policechaplain@piergov.com.
