Pierceton Man Faces Strangulation ChargeA Pierceton man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly strangling a woman who had a no-contact order against him.

Anthony Wayne Pollard Jr., 52, of 9567 E. Adams Road, Pierceton, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday for strangulation and five counts of failure to appear. His preliminary bond was set at $5,250.

Court documents filed May 25 list charges against him as strangulation, a level 6 felony; intimidation, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.

On May 7, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy Justin Smith responded to a 911 call with an open line, with screaming in the background, at 9567 E. Adams Road.

Upon arrival, he spoke with a woman who said Pollard tried to kill her. She said he became angry, threw her down, held her down with his hand under her jaw and she could not breathe. He told her “today is your day to die.” He then stopped, packed his clothes and left the residence.

Kosciusko County Central Dispatch advised Smith that there is a no-contact order issued to Pollard and the woman is the victim.

Officers verified Pollard was issued a protective order to have no contact with the woman on March 16 in Kosciusko County Superior Court II. The order was signed by Pollard that he had been served.

He also has active criminal case of domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury in Superior Court II and the woman is the victim in that case.
