PIERCETON - Town council members had a short meeting Monday with department heads and Jake Murray, of Housing Opportunities of Warsaw, attending.
Murray said he had interviewed three applicants for owner-occupied housing rehabilitation monies. The low-interest loans serve eligible homeowners in all manner of home renewal.
The town's grant can serve about 10 projects, and three homeowners have qualified so far.
Town superintendent Brad Bailey said about 500 feet of sanitary sewer lines have been videotaped per Indiana Department of Environmental Management instructions.
The taping is to show where excess storm water is entering the system.
Bailey said he was disappointed in the company, whose employees complained about the cold and their equipment and spent more time cleaning the pipes than recording the interiors of them.
Cost for the videotaping was $1,700.
"We spent a lot of money and don't have much to show for it," Bailey said.
Town Marshal George Alexander said he and Bailey have discussed placement of stop and speed limit signs in the industrial park.
He said the 1996 squad car has been repaired.
Board member Terry Hill asked that a local mechanic be used for future repairs.
Also in attendance were three Whitko High School seniors, who observed the meeting as part of a government class requirement.
In addition to Hill, Jerry Kreger and Ron Hall are members of the town council.
