Pierceton Elementary Schedules Kindergarten Round-up March 25-26

PIERCETON - Parents residing in the Pierceton Elementary School attendance area who have students who will turn 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 are encouraged to reserve a spot for their child at kindergarten round-up.
During the round-up, each child will be taken through a series of simple readiness tests to help teachers plan for each student's individual needs. Students will be evaluated in gross and fine motor skills, language concepts, letter and number identification, vision, hearing and high-ability potential.
Parents will participate in an informational presentation conducted by Barb Ihnen, PES principal, and other school staff members. The parents will complete school registration forms, as well as rating scales designed to assess the social and self-help skills of their child.
Parents will also have an opportunity to enter the lottery for full-day kindergarten slots. Parents need to bring the child's immunization records and legal birth certificate to Round-Up.Kindergarten round-up will be held at Pierceton Elementary March 25-26. Appointments are required. Morning, afternoon and early evening slots are available March 25 and morning and afternoon sessions are available March 26.
