PIERCETON - A Pierceton couple faces charges after police found two brewing meth labs and a filed-down handgun in their home Tuesday.
Shiloh Lee Steiner, 35, and Brandi Louise Steiner, 32, both of 5509 S. CR 550E, were together booked into Kosciusko County Jail on preliminary counts of manufacturing methamphetamine, after Kosciusko County Drug Task Force went to their home for a welfare check and found a drug operation.
According to the task force, officers went to the Steiner estate to do a welfare check, and they immediately found “items associated with the production of methamphetamine.” It was unclear who the welfare check was intended for.
Officers then used a search warrant to check the house, inside which they found a pair of one-pot meth labs inside a washing machine.
Police also found a handgun with the serial numbers filed off in the home, the task force said. Shiloh Steiner was charged with possession of a handgun with obliterated serial numbers.
A check of Brandi Steiner returned an outstanding warrant out of Wabash County, police said.
Both Steiners are awaiting a bond setting by Kosciusko County prosecutors.
