Pierceton Chamber Announces Jazz & Wine Tasting

Posted
PIERCETON – The Pierceton Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its Sixth Annual Jazz and Wine Tasting at the Old Train Depot in Pierceton Feb. 16.
This event will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. to benefit the Pierceton Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are available by calling 260-479-9615, or from any Pierceton Chamber member. Local beverage distributors will have four tables of wines for tasting as well as a table of craft beers to sample.
The Fort Wayne Flutes (formerly the IPFW Flute Ensemble) was founded in the early 1990s by Ann Donner. Donner is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and played flute with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic for more than 20 years. Driven by her love for the sounds of flutes playing together, she recruited her professional and semi-professional friends and students to begin playing together.  Today, the group has a total of 11 members and includes six piccolos, 10 flutes, five alto flutes and two bass flutes. Four members of this flute choir will entertain the Jazz and Wine Tasting guests.
The Trio Tones are a new classic, soft jazz combo featuring local artists. These three musicians come from diverse backgrounds and blend the sounds of traditional jazz & blues with a unique sound.  Individually, they stand on their own being a part of many different styles of music and performing. This contributes to the sound and class of the group.
Lakeland Art Association members will provide art for a live art auction to be held at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the live art auction will benefit the artist, Lakeland Art Association and the Pierceton Chamber of Commerce. A silent auction will also take place to benefit the Chamber.
Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Classic Catering. Weckmuller Fine Chocolates will have chocolates on hand to compliment the wines. The Blue Lion Mercantile will provide a coffee and tea bar.
