PIERCETON - Pierceton Town Council approved the purchase of four heating units for the Pierceton Fire Department Monday.
The units will cost about $12,000. Town Council President Jerry Kreger said the current units were bought when the building was built in 1969 and are costing the town money because of their inefficiency. Kreger said the town has been looking for bids for new units for about a year and a half.
"We contacted some local vendors looking for bids, but we never heard back from anyone," Kreger said.
