PIERCETON - Artists of all kind are invited to show their skills at the Pierceton Fine Arts and Writing Fair July 17 at Brower Park on Ind. 13.
Artists and writers are invited to participate in the annual event.
There will be cash awards for best of show, merit awards, honorable mention and business purchase awards.
The day kicks off at 8 a.m. with check-in and set-up. Someone will be on hand to help artists set up.
The fair opens at 10 a.m. and judging starts then as well.
At 1 p.m., awards will be announced.
At 2:30 p.m., the Blue Lion Coffeehouse in Pierceton will host writing recitations.
The entry fee for an artist booth is $25 for a 10x10 site. Commission fees are 10 percent of total sales.
Registration forms can be picked up at the Lakeland Art Association Gallery in Pierceton, or a request can be sent to bretbailey1964@gmail.com or by calling 260-609-2664.
There is no deadline for registering but the sooner the better.
If space is available on site, registration will take place on the morning of the fair.
Any profit from the day's events will go to Lakeland Art Association to help fund art programs in the community.
The writing categories include poetry, essay and short story.
Entries should indicate either professional or non-professional on the application form.
Tear down begins at the close of the fair and not before as long as weather permits.
