Pierceton Approves Contract With Sweetheimer For Trash Pick Up

PIERCETON – The town’s contract with Advanced Disposal contract for trash pick up expired Thursday. At the Dec. 30 town council meeting, councilmen Tom Barker, Matt Brubaker and Mandy Espinoza accepted a bid from Sweetheimer's Trash Removal.
Advanced Disposal also bid for the contract.
Advanced Disposal plans to retrieve their trash containers and has asked that trash not be put out in them for Sweetheimer personnel to empty.
Sweetheimer’s management has agreed to not take any trash in the Advanced Disposal containers. Trash can be placed in trash bags or in personal trash cans until the company receives trash containers for town residents.
There is no normal trash pick up today. Sweetheimer is running a special route on Friday, and will begin their normal service on Tuesday.
