A Silver Lake man may be charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident after he allegedly drove his 2006 Chevy Silverado into Pike Lake, where as of this morning, it still is.
According to information at the Warsaw Police Department, Timothy J. Kugler, 34, of South CR 200W, Silver Lake, drove his SUV into Pike Lake near the area of Ross Avenue, east of Lilac Lane, Warsaw around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Kugler was able to escape from the submerged vehicle.
Kugler then allegedly went knocking on doors at an apartment complex nearby before getting a ride from the scene.
Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw Fire Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department Dive Team responded to the scene to attempt and retrieve the vehicle from the lake.
As of this morning, crews from G and G Excavating were still trying to get the vehicle, which is stuck on something in the water, out of the lake.
