Pickerman's Cafe, 918 N. Detroit St., Warsaw, will be able to start serving beer and wine next week.
Owners Chuck and Mike Simpson, along with general manager Jeff Miner, were on hand at Thursday afternoon's Alcohol Beverage Commission.
The group purchased a license at auction, and it's currently the last beer and wine license available within Warsaw city limits. The commission approved the permit unanimously, which will allow Pickerman's to start serving alcohol as soon as it receives a letter of authority.
The letter can take up to three business days to arrive.
Bulldog Saloon owner Robert T. Carter, Mentone, appeared before the commission to get his license renewed.
There was a violation for gaming without a license.
The violation came from the bar offering pull tabs.
Carter paid a $250 fine for the violation and is currently seeking a gaming license. He told the commission Thursday afternoon that there is no gaming going on at the Bulldog Saloon.
The violation came in June.
Carter said he plans on taking the bar and turning half of it into a pizza parlor.
"Everybody's struggling," said Carter. "We're just trying to get a different clientele in there."
Carter apologized to the commission for the gaming violation.
The commission approved Carter's renewal.
Northside Lanes in Warsaw; Duffy's Pub & Grub in Syracuse; Walmart in Warsaw; The Eagles Lodges in Warsaw and Syracuse; and The Turf in Milford were all granted renewals with no violations.
Wings Etc.'s hearing for a renewal was continued to February's meeting because there was no representative on hand.
Wings Etc. is looking for a renewal with a violation.
According to State Excise Officer April Tackett, the violation is a result of a sale to a minor.
