Steve and Susan Grill, Winona Lake, and Joe and Diane Pickens, Groton, Conn., announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Pickens, Salem, Mass., to Brian Kenneth Roy, Danvers, Mass. He is the son of Kenneth and Sheila Roy, Salem.
The bride-to-be works as a school adjustment counselor at Salem Academy. She graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 2000; earned a bachelor's degree from Grace College in 2004; and a master's degree in clinical social work from Boston College in 2006.
The groom-elect is a carpenter at Carpenter & MacNeille, Essex, Mass. He graduated from St. John's Prep, Danvers, in 1998, and earned a bachelor's degree from Hartwick College, Oneonta, N.Y., in 2002.
The couple plan a July 22, 2011, wedding in southern Maine.
