Phyllis Susaine Rothe, 90, of South Whitley, and formerly of Warsaw, passed away at 11:15 p.m.  Feb. 9, 2013, in The Oaks, 413 N. Wolf Road, Columbia City.
She was born Oct. 25, 1922, in Belleville, Kan., to Harold William  and Maye Wagor Leeding. She married Charles Louis Rothe, who preceded her in death.
A resident of Kosciusko County for 50 years, prior to moving to South Whitley, she graduated from high school in Belleville, Kan., then attended Kansas State University for two years and received a teaching degree. She worked for three years as a secretary for the Kosciusko County Auditor’s Office. She was a former member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church, Theta Sigma Sorority and American Legion Post 49 Auxiliary, Warsaw.
She will be lovingly remembered by four granddaughters: Susie (and spouse Michael) Miller, South Whitley; Carolyn (and spouse Leroy) Swinford, Warsaw;  Sara Mulligan, Illinois; and Katherine Sette, California; three grandsons: David (and spouse Rachel) Hite,  Warsaw; Dan (and spouse Melissa) Elisha, Carmel; and Scott Elisha, California; and 18 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son,  Charles E. Rothe; two daughters, Cynthia L. Hite and  Pamela S. Elisha; two brothers, Doyle and Don Leeding; and a sister, Maxine Moore.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, officiated by Assistant Pastor Michael Miller.
No calling is planned.
