COLUMBIA CITY — Phyllis M. Davis, 90, Batesville, Ark., formerly of Columbia City, died at 8:52 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018, at White River Medical Center, Batesville.
She was born March 14, 1928, in Fort Wayne, the only child of the late J. Eugene and Averta E. Wert Martz. Her formative years were spent in Fort Wayne, where she graduated from Southside High School.
On April 6, 1946, she was united in marriage to V. Jay Davis. They made their home in Fort Wayne. In 1971, the couple moved to Winona Lake and in 1975, Columbia City. Mr. Davis died in 1998. Phyllis moved to Florida in 1999 and Batesville in 2004.
She was a full-time homemaker, raising their five children. She was a former member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Columbia City, and the Craft-E-Teers Club. In her senior years, she enjoyed yard sales, crochet and sewing.
She is survived by two sons, David E. Davis, Waynedale, and Michael J. (Darby) Davis, Warsaw; two daughters, Cheri L. (Bill) Pierce, Batesville, and Pamela S. Davis, Orlando, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kris A. Davis.
Interment of her cremains will take place at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
